August Meeting and Fun Fly

FUN-FLY RESULTS for JULY

July’s Fun-Fly event was the CLIMB ‘N’ GLIDE. We had 13 entrants
and Jack Dickey soundly waxed all of us with a winning time of 2:37.
Congratulations, Jack! Very nice climbing ‘n’ gliding, indeed!!!

Mark Wilson took 2nd place with 2:03 and Ted Lukins sealed a 3rd
place finish with 1:59 effort. Congratulations, gentlemen and thank you
to all the participants and timers.

AUGUST BOMB-DROP

Donna, my visiting granddaughters and I are feverishly making Kleenex/
Flour bombs for the month’s club meeting FUN-FLY. Mike Oulette is in
the process of moving and his trusty bomber had been tucked away some-
where in storage. Fortunately for us all, he was able to locate it so the ever
popular BOMB-DROP is an official “GO” for August 13th. Let’s try to
get underway by 6:00 p.m. because of our limited daylight.

We’ll pair up into teams and take turns being the pilot or the directing
bombardier. There will be a large duct-tape “X” affixed to the run-way and
each bomb’s strike-distance will be measured from the center of the “X.”
The team with the lowest total distance will be the winner. The plane will
fly at an altitude approximately equivalent to that of the old oak tree in our
parking lot.

BATTERY CANISTERS

Wife, Donna is learning pottery and is working on lidded containers. She
must practice by making many pieces. Since we don’t need countless
casserole dishes, she decided to make battery charging canisters for the
club members and KNIFE EDGE members (at no cost to them). Several
of the Pylon Racing participants each took one home after a recent race.
Anyone in BCRCC or KNIFE EDGE is certainly welcome to one if they
wish. Just e-mail me at kreusser1@comcast.net and let me know. We’re
more than happy to give you one…

Have a fine month…
